Privacy

What stays on your device, what you choose to send, and the limited site data we use.

Your recordings stay on your device by default

Recording, scoring and video export all happen in your browser. Nothing is uploaded automatically, and there is no background sync. There is exactly one exception: a challenge creator can explicitly upload their dub video so it plays on the challenge page. That upload happens only when you take the confirmation step yourself — no pre-checked box and no silent upload. Everyone else — anyone accepting or playing a challenge — never uploads anything; their takes stay on their device the same as always. Uploading is covered by the UGC section of the terms.

If you upload a challenge video

The video is hosted on its challenge page for as long as you keep it there. We keep it until you delete it or delete your account, whichever comes first; deleting either one purges the video from our storage, not just from the page. There is no public listing of uploaded videos — a challenge page is only found by whoever has its link.

Minors

Uploading a challenge video requires you to be 13 or older; the terms cover this. If a video was uploaded by someone under 13, or a parent or guardian wants one removed, email support@dubbooth.com and we will delete it and purge our storage.

The microphone

The browser asks for permission the first time you press Record, and only then. The site holds the microphone while you are on the Stage and releases it when you leave. You can revoke permission at any time from the padlock in the address bar.

Accounts are optional, no advertising

Playing needs nothing to sign up for. Creating or accepting a challenge uses Google sign-in, which is the only account this site has — it gives us the name, email and profile photo Google shares for that purpose, and nothing else. While you are signed out, some pages load Google's own sign-in prompt (Google Identity Services), which sets Google cookies under Google's policies; it never loads once you are signed in. There is no advertising and no advertising network on any page. If you send a bug report or feature request while signed in, it also includes technical details for debugging (your browser's user agent, the page URL, viewport, app version, and, for bug reports, the pack and clip you were on) that only site admins can see.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted Plausible installation (no cookies), Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and where the site is hard to use. Google Analytics sets its own analytics cookies under Google's policies; Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled, so it is not used for advertising. Its tag runs only on this site's production address, never in local or test builds. We also remove private query-string values, such as project and feedback IDs, from the page address sent to Google; campaign tags such as utm_source are retained. These services can receive the page visited, referring site, browser and device details, approximate location, and page interactions. They do not receive your microphone recordings or the video files you choose for the pack tool.

What is stored on your device

Your takes are held in the page while you play. Nothing is written to a server unless you explicitly upload a challenge video, as described above. Clearing the page or closing the tab discards anything you did not upload. One deliberate exception: if you start a sign-in or a purchase from the export dialog, your takes are saved in this browser's own storage (IndexedDB) for up to 24 hours so they survive the trip back — on this device only, and still never uploaded.

When a pack ZIP imports successfully, we record the pack's title (just the title, not tied to your account) so we know which packs to curate. Nothing else about an import is stored.

If you turn a video into a pack (the paid tool)

Uploading a video to the pack tool is explicit — you pick the file and confirm the price first. The video is stored privately under your account (no public URL) and sent to our AI processing providers for exactly two jobs: transcribing the speech and separating voices from background audio. The pack files the tool produces live in that same private storage until you delete the project, which removes them. Your microphone recordings are a separate thing entirely and still never leave your device — the tool only ever receives the video file you picked.

Payments

Purchases are sold by DubBooth, operated by 1imagegenerator LLC, and processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never touch our servers; Stripe's own privacy policy governs what it holds. To take a payment we pass Stripe the account identifier the purchase belongs to and the email address on your account, so the receipt reaches you and the credits reach the right account. Stripe also keeps a customer record for you — it is what the billing portal opens: invoices, the saved card, cancellation. What we keep is the transaction record — what was bought, when, and the credit movements on your account — because your credit balance is an account feature. The refund policy covers how reversals work.

Third parties

Outbound links point to the pack pages on GameBanana. Following either takes you to a site with its own privacy policy that we do not control.
